Chongqing science and Technology Museum, one of the Chongqing municipal Party committee and the municipal government of the city's ten major social and cultural cause of major infrastructure projects, is a public oriented modern, comprehensive and multifunctional large popular science education venues, is implementing the strategy of "revitalize" and improve the cultural literacy of the citizens of the basic science facilities. Chongqing science and Technology Museum is located in the core area of Chongqing Jiangbei central business district (CBD) at the junction of the Yangtze River and Jialing River. It laid its foundation in January 7, 2006 and started construction in October 2006. It was opened in September 9, 2009. The Museum covers an area of 37 mu, with a construction area of 48 thousand and 300 square meters (of which the exhibition education area is 30 thousand square meters), with a total investment of 567 million yuan (of which 400 million yuan for the construction works and 167 million yuan for display projects).
